presents: A Women’s Writing Salon
I wanted a place to write alongside other women where the words could be messy, surprising, unfinished. So I’m creating one, and you’re invited.
Guided prompts get our pens moving, then we follow whatever shows up. Read aloud if you choose, and hear what moved someone. No critique, no advice, nothing to get right.

What to Expect
Six Agreements
Inspired by Pat Schneider’s Amherst Writers & Artists Method
We write by hand.
We spend enough of our lives looking at screens. Here, we put pen to paper and give our words a little more time and attention.
Your words are yours.
Write what you want. Take the prompt wherever it leads you, or somewhere else entirely. Share a paragraph, the whole piece, or nothing at all. You decide.
Let the words speak.
If you share, begin with the writing. No backstory, explanations, or apologies needed. Your words don’t need an introduction.
Reflect what resonates.
We name what we loved: an image, a phrase, a feeling that lingered. We help each other hear what’s already working. No critique, corrections, questions, or unsolicited advice allowed.
It stays in the room.
We hold each other’s words in confidence. The stories shared here belong to the people who wrote them.
It’s all fiction.
We meet each piece as a story, without assuming it’s autobiographical. We speak about “the narrator” and let the writer’s life remain their own.
